The importance of time management within education and especially college is crucial. To my knowledge, I know that for college students, depending on the amount of units they're taking, that's how many hours it takes to complete the work for that class. Typically, education isn't the only thing college students have to worry about. Most times finances is a big worry and if a student does not have the money to pay off school fees then they have no choice but to get a job. This adds on to their plate, meaning they must fit their work schedules into their day on top of the 10-15 hours of homework and studying. Sleep is sometimes not even an option for college students let alone eating, and failure to keep a good diet results in weight gain and bad health. This phenomenon is known to most as Freshman 15. It is a priviledge to have time to be able to workout nowadays, and several students don't have that. In some majors, students are even recommended to put in volunteer hours at a location off campus and if one struggles with transportation, that costs money and time that they probably don't have.

  1. Time management is also important because it contributes to the way that you studied. Supposed you studied for a test very hard, but you end up failing it. That means that the way that you have studied is not correct, which is a whole different story from failing out of laziness. While doing a certain task, it's important to stay focused rather than get distracted, because if you lose concentration, you'll forget the information you just read. Time management also contributes to how you study.

  2. Knowing how to manage time is one of the most important skills that students should learn from entering college. In college, most students feel more free than in high school because there are not as many classes every day. Homework is not due the next day, students have the options to choose when to do their homework. In this kind of situation, time management is especially crucial for college student. They should develop a sense of finishing their homework as soon as possible in order to save time to play around or do whatever they want to do. As I mentioned previously, college students do not have as many classes each day as high students, but they should definitely plan some time used for review. In addition, many students have jobs or join clubs in college, they should learn how to create a balance between studying, working, and entertaining.

  3. Time management extends beyond college or education of any level. At some point in life people will have to find a balance between self-care, work, or taking care of other people all while being able to keep the expected budget out of the red. College is a new and more forgiving environment for most students, and will help them to learn how to balance a budget and manage time.
